HISTORY
Luigi Borgato was born on 21 February 1963. Cultivated in Padua—Padua being the birthplace of Bartolomeo Cristofori, inventor of the piano— he approached the instrument by beginning its study.
In 1983, Luigi Borgato established his first atelier in his hometown near Padua, where — together with his wife, Paola Bianchi — he went on to design and masterfully craft the first two BORGATO L282 concert grand pianos.
In 1991, at the age of 28, Luigi Borgato unveiled to the public his inaugural concert grand piano of innovative concept: the BORGATO L282.
Inspired by historic compositions, Luigi Borgato designs and crafts in the modern era, a double concert grand piano by adding an extended 37-note pedalboard to the lower instrument: the DOPPIO BORGATO, a newly patented creation. He presents it to the public in September 2000.
In September 2017, Borgato presented his latest masterpiece in Padua. By introducing new string lengths and soundboard widths, he achieves a new milestone in the world of concert grand pianos: the BORGATO GRAND PRIX 333.
Luigi Borgato is also highly regarded technician and tuner. He personally takes care for his own instruments for concerts and recordings, assisting internationally renowned pianists.
